About the Addy Gown Pattern
The Addy Gown embodies elegance and grace. Its full tulle skirt contrasts beautifully with a bodice that tapers at the waist, creating a dramatic formal length that touches the floor. The bodice, designed without separate sleeves, accommodates specialty fabrics perfectly. Whether you use coordinating specialty fabric or upcycle a child’s dress, this pattern creates a stunning gown.
About the Creta Gown Pattern
The Creta Gown Pattern highlights the beauty of specialty fabrics like ruffles, sequins, and embroidery. The skirt features box pleats to manage bulk and create volume, making it ideal for these fabrics. The bodice has a wide square neckline, and optional variations include embellishing the narrow sleeve with an oversized bow, simple ribbon bows, or cut-out embroidery. The skirt can also be sewn without the overlay, offering endless style possibilities depending on your fabric choices.
Materials and Supplies
Addy Gown
- Lightweight to medium-weight specialty fabric (satin, velvet, or specialty fabrics with knit/woven backing): 1/4 yard
- Lightweight lining material: 1/3 yard
- Tulle: 1 yard
- ¾″ wide snag-free Velcro: 5″ long
- ¼″ wide Wonder Tape (for Velcro placement)
- Disappearing ink marking pen
- Coordinating thread
- Basic sewing supplies: pins, scissors, pinking shears, iron, universal sewing machine needle, and a sewing machine.
- Pattern cutting supplies: 28 mm and 18 mm rotary cutters, cutting mat, and pattern weights.
Creta Gown
- Main fabric for bodice (lightweight to medium-weight woven fabric): 1/4 yard
- Overlay fabric for skirt (lightweight to medium-weight woven fabric): 1/2 yard
- Lining fabric for bodice, skirt lining, and optional shoulder bow (lightweight woven): 1/2 yard
- ¾″ wide soft and flexible Velcro: 5″ long
- ¼″ wide Wonder Tape (for Velcro placement)
- Hand stitching needle
- 1/2″ ribbon (for turning the bodice right-side-out): 13″ long
- Optional Variations:
- 1/4″ ribbon for turning the shoulder bow: 24″ long
- 1/2″ ribbon for shoulders: 27″ long
- Safety pin (for turning the garment right-side-out)
- Disappearing ink marking pen
- Coordinating thread
- Basic sewing supplies: pins, scissors, pinking shears, iron, seam ripper, ballpoint sewing machine needle, and a sewing machine.
