The Bertha Fur Coat is a stylish layer to pair with different outfits.  There are a variety of looks depending on the faux fur type and the sleeve option you choose.  Make it out of a short pile faux fur for an elegant look.  A medium length faux fur is a fashionable statement.  For a casual look make the vest option.  The coat is designed with a boxy cut and has 3 sleeve finishes.  Make it with long sleeves, short sleeves or no sleeves for the vest.  It is fun to build layered outfits and looks!  I designed this pattern to coordinate and work with a variety of other patterns.  I’ve included a style guide to give you options that help you pair patterns.  The Bertha Fur Coat will add a fun touch to any doll outfit!

This doll clothes pattern is for 18 inch dolls.  It is fitted to dolls with the waist measurements of 10 1/2″-11″.

MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES

  • Fabric-Short pile to medium pile faux fur or faux shearling fabric-1/4 yard
  • Lining- Lightweight woven fabric- 1/4 yard
  • Hook and eye closure- (Optional)
  • Button- (Optional)
  • Vinyl- (Optional)
  • Felt- (Optional)
  • Snaps- (Optional)
  • Hand sewing needle
  • Large safety pin for turning garment right side out, and releasing fur from seams.
  • Disappearing ink marking pen
  • Coordinating thread
  • Basic sewing supplies (Pins, scissors, pinking shears, iron, seam ripper, ball point sewing machine needle and a sewing machine.)
  • Pattern cutting supplies (28 mm and 18 mm rotary cutters, cutting mat, pattern weights)
