Three kids off to school and the little one’s still in bed (Love how she sleeps in!), so I thought I’d sit down to write.
Yes, it is the first day of school and today also marked a few other firsts around here. One made it to zero period on time (just believe me, it’s remarkable). The one who is ALWAYS on time missed the bus for the first day of high school (Yikes! Luckily we are close enough to walk. She took it in stride, and dashed up the hill and down the hill to school). And one made the bus to his first day of middle school (Which is a bigger deal for mom, yes the catching the bus part and the middle school part.).
Phew, the busy morning was the end of a busy summer, far too busy to chronicle, or rehash. It was a good summer though and we are all happy and well.
Last week when I was taking pictures for my weekly Doll Diaries post Lucy sat down next to the set up and said “take pictures of me”. Which is funny because she generally has no patience to slow down for pictures. I usually have to distract her with something else to get a picture of her, well more like 50 pictures, of which there is one where she is generally looking in the direction of the camera. HA!
She is a busy, spunky little thing, with the cutest mango smear on her cheek, I might add! That is so 3, eating a snack one moment, off to something else the next! She will keep me plenty busy while her siblings are at school but it will be a nice change of pace. Her and I, my little helper around the house, plenty of story books, trips to the park, making dinner, painting and coloring, and of course we will play dolls. Lest I painted a picture that was too perfect for you there will also be plenty of fits, messes to clean up and always a surprise disaster. It’s both the parts we love and the parts we work through each day, right?
Of course I took her up on the offer, to take her picture, I’m usually chasing her down for the chance! Then she said “Now can I play with the dolls?” She was just eyeing those mini treats for play!
I love whipping up a doll craft to inspire but the best is sharing the fun with this little doll lover!
I love, love, love summer but the structure of the school year will be nice to get back to. Now with a little more structure it’s time to get crafting, creating and sharing more! Speaking of, tomorrow I have a craft I’ve been itching to share with you, so stay tuned!
