Did you recognize this shirt right away? It is the last in a whole line up of variations of the Banded Dolman Shirt pattern and might I say the most trendy version!
I love, adore and dream in variations. Variations are about second chances, exploration, discovery, and adventure.
Today’s sewing adventure in variation is to try the pattern using this super stretchy, hole filled fabric.
I found this fabric along with other stretch knits at Joann’s. It comes in this lovely aqua blue, a carnation pink and red. Are you wondering about all those holes and how the sewing machine handled it? It was surprisingly easy to sew on. Even turning the neckline was no problem.
Honestly, it’s fun to try such a different fabric and it worked really well with the Banded Dolman Shirt pattern.
I truly enjoyed sewing up all the variations of the Dolman and will have to gather them all into one place for easy reference.
I hope this sparks creativity in you to try something new and enjoy this pattern in a fresh way!

I love this – and I just recently purchased the same fabric in a slightly darker blue! I have so much on my to do list, but trying this has just been added!

That fabric is fun to work with! I think I saw the darker shade last time I was at the store. Love it! I recently saw they moved some of the colors to the red tag clearance area at our JoAnn’s.
