Quick. Adorable. Fun fashion accessory. Wanna make one?
I’ve had this doll size fur scarf on the brain ever since I tried one in my size at the store the other day. Have you been caught up with all the faux fur out again this year? Ooo, I’m smitten and I want to fur-ify everything! Ha!
This cozy little accessory is sure to add a little variety and fun to a doll wardrobe.
Of course you could essentially use any kind of fabric for this scarf. But for right now, with winter around the corner, it’s all about that cozy fur!
Let’s make a scarf together!
Cut a piece of faux fur fabric 3 1/2″ x 15 1/2″.
Fold it in half lengthwise, with the right sides together.
Sew it lengthwise using 1/4″ seam allowance.
Turn the “tube” inside out.
Fold it in half, matching the cut ends.
We are going to add a twist to the scarf. Turn the top layer over to add 180 degree twist.
I flipped it again giving it a 360 degree twist. I’ll have to make another with just the 180 degree twist. The double twist was fun but I think I would like one twist better!
Pin and sew the ends together using a 1/4″seam allowance.
Slip it over your dolls head with the twisted fabric in the front.
This is a casual and fun look.
Style it a bit more dressy and elegant by widening the scarf at the shoulders and shaping it higher around her neck.
It would be lovely worn over a dress.
This cozy little fur scarf will make any outfit ready for winter!
Do send pictures if you make one! I would love, love, love to see it!
