Santa’s Workshop For Someone in Need

We made this doll bedroom set as a family.  We gave it along with an 18″ doll to a 6 year old girl who wanted a doll for Christmas.  Her family recently lost a family member and her father is looking for work.   It was our gift of love to this little girl and her family.

Here are the oufits to go along with it.

Pj’s and a party dress.

We bought this cute Springfield Collections doll as part of the set.  I have to be honest that I wished so badly I could come up with an American Girl Doll for this little girl.  I just love the way American Girl Dolls last.  Although I’ve heard some have had the success of keeping Springfield dolls’ hair nice, it’s just harder to do.

It was fun planning, designing and putting this together as a family and I’ll be sharing some posts on how we did it!

Hope you are having a Merry Christmas season!

Anna

  1. Very sweet! Two of my Springfield girls, Susan and Raychel, will be leaving me b/c they are being donated to a toy drive for low income special needs kids. They’ll be sent in new Christmas dress, red fur coat, sparkly red shoes, and extra lounging outfit and a rubber tipped hairbrush. I’ll be sad to see them go, but I only want them…a child NEEDS them.

What a beautiful set! I am waiting for the counselor at my daughter’s school to give me more details on a few girls I want to help out this year. Last year we donated three Springfield dolls plus 2 extra outfits and a pet each. I am looking forward to helping out again this year.

  3. I just discovered your blog… I love seeing all the repurposed things you’ve come up with, as I’m always trying to find things to add to my girls collection. Love the bed and I’m sure the little girl loved her doll.

    1. Thank you!! Repurposing is the best! I love not having to start from scratch and I always feel good about giving something a new useful life!

  4. That is soo sweet last year i donated my playwonder doll with an outfit to a nice family in need and it felt good i love to hear that people are spreading the holiday spirit

  5. This is such a lovely idea. Gently used AGDs can be found at a greatly reduced price, and they really do hold up well. TY for all your tutes on making things for these dolls!
