I came home from the craft store a while back with the sparkiest pom poms you ever did see. My 4 year old was my shopping partner. These pom poms are magical because they are pink, purple and sparkly! They are the inspiration for this pom pom necklace.
Don’t shy away from your favorite color combo. String together small pom poms to make your own fabulous version of this necklace!
Pom Pom Necklace
Supplies:
- Small and extra small pom poms (Mine came in a multi size pack with several larger sizes. I used the smallest sizes for the necklace.)
- Embroidery Floss
- Needle
- Scissors
This necklace is made similar to the pom pom scarf from a while back. We will stitch the pom poms together one at a time, so they don’t slide around on the thread. When I first started stringing pom poms together a few months ago I soon discovered they just slide and bunched into a pile. It is an easy fix, just loop through each pom pom and they stay put. Visit the pom pom scarf instructions here to get a step by step look at the process.
Be sure to make the necklace long enough to fit over the dolls head easily.
When you are finished with the necklace, connect the last and first pom pom. Stitch through the first first pom pom several times and tie a knot.
It’s been “back to basics” crafting for dolls around here lately. Last week we made a headband from a craft stick and today we made a necklace from pom poms. It’s fun to make use of basic craft supplies that have been around forever!
