Today we are dog sitting this cute little Chihuahua named Zoe. This picture was taken a year ago when she was just a pup. She hasn’t changed much since then. She still gives you this inquisitive look.
Zoe is my parents dog and a frequent visitor. When Zoe was 3 months and Lucy was just over a year I attempted the impossible, to capture a puppy and baby on film at the same time! I set them on a trunk to slow them down.
First, one was checking the edges.
Then they were both ready to jump ship. Even though the photo session was short lived, I was still able to capture the moment and the age on film that day.
I even captured a few cute details!
Lucy loves the days Zoe is over!
I decided to put together a doll size play set inspired by Zoe. We used a Ty Beanie Boos keychain, Nacho the Chihuahua.
I clipped off the keychain and tag.
I came upon this little pet carrier at the thrift store. Pet toys are popular and some are a great size for 18″ doll play.
I made a little pet bed that works with or without the carrier. I cut out two circles of plush fleece and sewed them right sides together. I left a small opening to flip it right side out, stuffed it with a little batting, and stitched the opening closed.
It is a comfy spot for our mini Zoe.
Lucy just loves her little pet!
She is at the age where she loves to haul it around…
…but as she gets older she’ll enjoy it with more imaginative play!
As you may have noticed in the first pictures of the real Zoe, she often wears a coat or sweater. That is because she is always cold! We had to make our toy Zoe a snuggly sweater to keep her cozy! If you would like to make one too, I wrote up the instructions for Doll Diaries!
