Over the summer I made a seashell necklace for dolls over on Doll Diaries.
The project was inspired by a necklace I had as a child and the jar of shells that my son gathered from the beach this summer.
This little girl liked the necklace and wanted one of her own.
We made one little change from the doll size necklace at her request.
I tied on a little pink ribbon.
I’ve been working on a project for Christmas involving ribbon and shells and well, she thought they would also look good together on a necklace.
Yes, darling let’s add a ribbon! 🙂
She had the vision for it because the ribbon is cute added to the necklace and perfect for this little girl.
I made the necklace the same way I made the doll necklace. (You can see the full tutorial here.)
I love all of the details of the necklace, the gold trim and the metal wire. Best of all it shows off the beautiful shell.
It is a lovely necklace and would be fun for any age. Hey, I think I need one next!
It’s a special keepsake if you make it with a shell you find on the beach!
Best of all, make it in two sizes for matching girl/doll necklaces! (Now Grace needs a ribbon on her’s!)
The necklaces are lovely and it’s a bonus that they are also easy to make!
