Today I want to share how to make this fun locker set for dolls.  I built the set for the background of the Athletic Top and Athletic Shorts pattern in my book My Doll, My Style.  A fun and sturdy piece of doll furniture, it’s a quick project because you don’t have to build it from scratch.  It’s made from wooden crates you can get from JoAnn’s.  Let’s get started!

Make a Doll Sized Locker Room

Materials

• 2 Large CD crates (17.9 x 5.8 x 4.4 inches)
• 1 Small CD crate (11.5 x 5.8 x 4.4 inches)
• 1 chalkboard (12” x 18”)
• cardboard
• paper (optional)
• paint
• masking tape
• glue
• push pins (optional)

1. Paint the wood crates with craft paint or spray paint
2. Mask the chalkboard with tape and paint the wood frame around the edges.
3. Measure and cut cardboard to fit in the openings of each crate.  The cardboard will be the back of each locker and the bench.  Wrap paper around the cardboard and glue the edges to the back of the cardboard.  Glue the cardboard to the back surface of each locker and bench.
4. Stand up the large crates as lockers on each side with the small crate between as a bench.  Place the chalkboard behind the bench.
5.  Optional- Glue the crates and chalkboard together with a wood glue.
6. Place a pushpin on one side of a locker as a hook to hang a backpack or accessories. Secure the pushpins by placing glue in the hole and then inserting the pin.  Allow to dry before using.

I hope you enjoyed this idea to make your own lockers for dolls!  Add accessories to each locker and this set is ready for play!
