Don’t feel an ounce of pressure to skip Thanksgiving! This is just like the little sneak peak we are already seeing in stores and in the ads! 🙂
With Christmas day one month from today I wanted to give you a peek at the doll Christmas decorations I’ve been working on! If you have been following Doll It Up on Facebook you have already seen little sneak peaks of our doll Christmas!
As Christmas approaches, I will have many fun doll sized crafts that you may want to make along with me. Some will make nice gifts and others are fun crafting projects!
In anticipation to the season ahead I thought it might be fun to share a little about the crafting inspiration behind this year’s decorations!
I love to craft and I have a lot of fun making little doll scenes. I wanted to create something totally different from the Christmas scenes last year. I enjoy working with different colors and I know everyone has different tastes when it comes to color. By mixing it up, I hope you feel inspired to craft a little thing or two for your dolls and have fun using your creativity to make it your own!
This year, starting with a range of ideas, I finally narrowed it down to 3 color schemes. After sleeping on it, I decided I would use colors and decor inspired by Saige (American Girl’s, Girl of the Year)- with my own fun twist.
All year I’ve loved the vibrant colors in her line and have created many doll scenes inspired by those colors.
This tree can definitely be described as vibrant! It’s a pop of color this year, with royal blue, turquoise, red, orange, and a yellow green.
This is the basic scene. It is already chock-full of upcycled and crafted ornaments…(that I can’t wait to share soon!)…and I’ll be making room for a few more crafted ornaments to add a little more personal touch!
The scene will expand as I craft my way through the season! There will be something for everyone!
“Like” Doll It Up on Facebook to follow along as I create! It’s always the season for crafting and creating around here!
I hope you’ll do a little crafting with me this season!
