Every so often I like to post about food. What does this have to do with dolls you say? All of my food posts have one thing in common, they come in mini size. I know it’s more common to hear super sized, but here the opposite is true, everything on the menu is mini!
Mini is fun for casual or special occasions. Keep it simple and serve this for an after school snack. Serve this tray at a little tea party, just for girls and dolls. Put on a doll sized spread for girls at a party or a get-together. Now let’s talk about what’s on today’s mini menu, a cheese and cracker tray!
This little cheese and cracker tray all started with these grapes. (You may have noticed they are also in another recent food post, Set Your Table with a Doll’s Table! What can I say? Their cuteness inspired two posts!) They are adorably small. Cute as these grapes may be, they are not essential for this tray. I hope the ideas I share can serve as inspiration for you to combine with mini food discoveries of your own! Let’s take a closer look at the mini cuteness on our cheese and cracker tray!
These tiny grapes are black corinth. In the U.S., keep an eye out for them in stores July thru September. These are seedless, sweet and juicy! To serve them on our tray, clip the stem into smaller sections with a pair of scissors.
Cherry tomatoes are a perfect mini version of tomatoes.
Slice them up to accentuate their mini size.
Fresh mozzarella comes in these small balls. They are usually sold with the speciality cheese next to the deli. Slice each little ball into a few slices to mimic regular sliced cheese. The little slices will sit nicely on a cracker!
Mmmm, it’s starting to come together!
Serve up a wedge of cheese! Mini Babybel is available at most grocery stores and is an adorable mini version of a cheese round.
Take off the wax and slice it into wedges to make it look like it’s giant relatives.
Mini bell peppers make a colorful and tasty addition.
Slice them to see their fun shape and add to their mini-ness.
Complete the spread with mini toast and mini crackers. These bite sized slices of crunchy toast were sold next to the specialty cheese in my grocery store. The tiny crackers are the Club brand of crackers called “Minis”. I’m serving the multi-grain variety.
Set out a tray of this mini cuisine.
Set out small plates…
and small napkins and small forks.
It’s hard to tell the scale of these forks but they are 4″ plastic “tasting” forks sold next to the plastic ware!
Combine a little of this and that for a delicious mini meal!
Whether you are looking for a fun after school snack or you have a party in the plans, this mini cheese and cracker tray is sure to please!
