What do you think of Grace’s Welcome Gifts set? Every doll from American Girl that is a Girl of the Year or a BeForever historical doll has accessories sold separately. You may get the doll but what about the accessories? Are they worth it?
Today I’ll show you a close up look at Grace’s accessories so you can decide!
This accessory set for Grace is centered around a trip to Paris from her stories. They are welcome gifts from family she is visiting in Paris.
Cost:$32
- pink beret
- bouquet of flowers
- box of macaroons
- mesh bag with two Eiffel tower cookies
- 3 Paris postcards
Beret
I bought Grace’s Accessories for one thing really, the beret.
Pros: Completes the look of a visit to France.
Cons: I was surprised it was a little hard to put on. It is a tiny bit on the tight side but maybe it will loosen over time.
Bouquet of Flowers
Pros: The flowers are cute and the black polka dot print is fun.
Cons: The flowers are wrapped in paper that could easily be crushed.
Macaroons
Pros:The color variation is fun on the macaroons. The box with the window is adorable.
Cons: The cookies are not separate for play and the box will easily be ruined because it is made of cardboard.
Eiffel Tower Cookies
Pros: Eiffel tower graphic is adorable and the mesh bag is a fun way to package the cookies
Cons: The ribbon is small and short and would be hard for a child to tie.
Post Cards
Pros: Perfect Paris themed postcards. I love the stamps, and notes on the back.
Cons: Small and made of paper, so they would be easy to loose or ruin.
So, what do you think after taking a close up look at Grace’s Welcome Gifts?
After reading through the pros and cons for each piece I’m reminded of the cute details but also the question of whether they will last and stay nice. Do you think the overall value is $32? I’d love to hear what you think!

Great review! I like the accessories, but I feel like they are a bit overpriced. If I bought the postcards, I’d probably laminate them so they wouldn’t tear. 🙂
Anna says
Thank you! The accessories are cute and creative but are pricey for what you get!
Sophie T says
They seem a bit overpriced and very fragile. They are cute and fun, but 32$?
Anna says
Sophie, The fragile items are cute and fun but I agree the set seems to lack enough quality items for the price.
Rebecca says
I have a beret, Eiffel tower postcard, and I made the bouquet. The cookies i can easily make, and I could find macaroons on etsy. Are the macaroons cardboard? I think the ag set looks to cheap.
Anna says
Rebecca, the macaroons are plastic but the box they come in is cardboard. Sounds like you have been getting creative to put together your own fun “welcome gifts”!
Farrah Lily says
Hi Anna! Great photos…I’m disappointed by the macaroons, as I think they’d look cuter if they weren’t stuck together, but I agree the the Eiffel tower cookies are really cute!
Anna says
Thanks Farrah! The colors of the macaroons are awesome but having them all stuck together is not. The play value would go up if they were individual cookies!

Cute! I got these on my trip to Columbus for my bday, and they are worth it. I noticed in the background the beautiful vanity, and I was wondering if you bought it anywhere/ made it? thanks! Beautiful pictures btw! ^-^
Anna says
Thank you! I refinished the vanity for a Doll Diaries post. Here is the link! http://dolldiaries.com/the-refinished-vanity-table/

Now I really want to get Grace’s Welcome Accessories. The pictures are awesome and I loved the close-ups. I could see almost every little detail.

Thankyou for showing these so well. Here in Italy I will never be able to buy them and it is interesting to see them closeup like that! Hand made alternatives may be the way to get them! Lol!
Anna says
I’m glad you found it helpful! I don’t live by an AG store and don’t see most things in person either. I hope to share some of that in-person feel through photos! Handmade alternative are a great option!
