Ever since spring I have really wanted to make seaside decorations for a doll scene. I made the regular rounds in town to see what I could come up with, keeping my eyes out for mini shells, little doll sized shells.
No luck.
These were the smallest I could find. They came in a bag of shells, and these right here, are among the smallest in the bag. Not what I had in mind!
Then one day I was at the thrift store. A necklace rack was near the register. That’s where I spied them, little tiny shells.
Just right for a doll sized seashell collection!
There was even more than one type of shell.
There was even more than one color of shell.
The price was right so I bought them and came home to experiment.
That’s where these cute little vases come in. They are from JoAnn’s in the scrapbooking section. (I had to throw in a picture of my half empty packaging so you could see all the details if you want to keep an eye out for one!) They called out nautical to me.
Turns out they were just right for a seashell collection!
Cute and little and definately doll sized!
Since I am obsessed with orange right now, these made me the happiest. Even though orange shells are a little odd.
So instead of pale blues and whites. This nautical decor has a splash of orange.
It gives me my nautical fix, for now. There are still a few ideas rolling around in my head so one of these days I may add to my nautical decor.
For now, I’m enjoying tiny shells and little glass vases with real cork.
Hope you can glean a few ideas for your doll space!

I use those mini vials for stuff all the time! I usually put beans and corn in them.
