Morgan Olivia is back and much loved. Remember how she went on a trip to the American Girl doll hospital before Christmas? She made it back in time to be a Christmas surprise! I want to share her homecoming. It was a secret trip so I took lots of pictures to share with my daughter after Christmas morning.
With Christmas upon us I was eagerly awaiting the timely return of Morgan Olivia from the American Girl Doll Hospital.
Right away it was evident where she had been.
First sight!
She was all secure in the box.
Out of her box and ready to play!
She was discharged in good health.
Here are the well wishes from American Girl.
American Girl does a nice job with the details, making it fun!
The hospital gown is really cute with bandaids, flowers, and butterflies.
Don’t forget the hospital socks.
A stay at the hospital always requires a hospital bracelet.
We also requested to have her ears pierced.
We have never had a doll with pierced ears!
I think she’ll enjoy this accessory!
That lovely hair came in pigtails with pink ribbons.
Remember why Moran Olivia went to the doll hospital? It was because of a haircut from her first owner. To re-wig a doll, American Girl gives the doll a new head. I immediately wanted to put the pictures side by side to see the before and after look.
What do you think? She was a delightful surprise Christmas morning! The last few years I’ve put together a doll scene for Christmas morning. Any guesses what the theme was this year for the doll scene? 🙂

thank you so much for posting this! I’ve been dying to see how she turned out! I was wondering what doll # she was! She looks gorgeous! I want to send one of my beloved dolls in, but I’m nervous for them to replace her head! Is it worth it?
Anna says
It was really worth it for us because the doll had a haircut from the previous owner. See before pics at http://www.doll-it-up.com/2012/11/30/christmas-at-our-house-shh-its-top-secret/ . It was like getting a brand new doll! We loved her before but we are adoring her even more now! Her face definitely looks different. I don’t know anything about how American Girl heads/faces have changed over the years. It would be interesting to find out though! What worries you about sending her in?

Getting a brand new head! She has really dry, thin hair that isn’t so fun. Thanks for replying. I like your blog.

Is it the process of getting a new head or having a face that looks different holding you back?
Sierra says
I follow your site. How often do you post?
Anna says
It’s great to have you Jen! I usually post at least twice a week. Come back soon!

Cool. What AG’s/dolls do you have living at your house. It looks like Emily, Julie and Morgan Olivia. I think there are a few more?
Anna says
We have eleven 18″ dolls at our house. Six are AG’s, two are Our Generation, two are Springfield Collection, and one is Gotz. Our very first 18″ doll was the Gotz and two of our dolls are boys that we repurposed from other dolls. Not everyone has shown their face on the blog yet!

Do you know if the hospital would replace the head of a retired doll? My Kirsten has dry, frizzy hair and her limbs need tightening. She has paint on her face. 🙁 My Felicity’s limbs also need major repairs.
I love your blog! Your crafts and photos are amazing!
