Doll Cake Stand from a Candlestick

Well I am happy to say my computer is back and running well!  I had to take it back to the repair shop twice this week!   That was accompanied with the highs and lows of having a computer, NOT having a computer, having a computer, NOT having a computer!

I have a little catching up to do on some tutorials I have in the works.  Namely the ruffle dress!  In the mean time, I thought I’d show you a little cake stand I made a while back.  These pics are from Christmas time but the cake stand with the little purple cake goes back a few years.

I made the felt cake to go with it for a birthday party play set I put together for my daughters birthday.  Let’s take a closer look at the stand.

Really it’s just a candlestick…

and a little tray.  Glue it together with the fabulous E6000 glue.  It is the clearest, strongest, glass to glass adhesive I know of.  Yep, I love the stuff!

There you have it!  All ready for play!

And what about that tall pedal stand you say?  It is just a taller candlestick, turned upside down with a mini plate set on top.  It’s for looks.  I can’t decide if I should make it permanently into a doll item.  I love cake stands and pedestal style serving ware.  I have a few more ideas in the works that I’ve been trying out, using different repurposed items!  So I’ll have a few more to share sometime!

Well it’s good to be back in the swing of things!
