Today I have close ups of the dress swapping we did in the dollhouse last week. Bitty Baby (American Girl’s 15 inch baby doll) is new to our house since my daughters birthday. And with a new doll comes new clothes in the doll house! I was looking at one of Bitty Babies outfits and thought of Saige. It is the perfect color for her. Remember, Bitty Baby is a 15 inch baby doll and as you know Saige is an 18 inch doll. So let’s take a closer look!

I love the way the neckline fits on an 18 inch doll.
Let’s look at the proportions of a dress made for a 15 inch doll on an 18 inch doll. The sleeves are a good length and the waistband of the dress is placed in a good spot for both dolls. The shoulders fit both dolls differently but I think it works nicely for both.
This dress has cute elastic detail on the sleeve that I just love!
I was amazed that the tights fit. I love the pattern on the tights and I think the 18 inch doll sports them well.
The shoes are a bit tight but they fit!
As for the dress length, it’s a bit on the short side for me. It is not shorter than Saige’s meet dress, but in my opinion that dress is a bit too short as well.
After all, there is a 3 inch difference between the two dolls and that shows up with the dress length.
Overall I am amazed that they can share this outfit so well!
This dress is such a pretty color on Saige, so lovely with her eyes and hair color!
My daughter also has the matching Cozy Play Dress. It is made of a heavier knit than the doll version. I was glad to see American Girl used different fabric weights, otherwise the dress would be too bulky on the doll or too flimsy for a girl to wear. The version for girls has even more sweet details. The waistband, the flowers and the sleeve line are a bit different but with finer details in mind.
I am excited with the versatility of this outfit, I’m sure Bitty Baby will be sharing again!

Yeah! That’s true… I never thought of it that way! ?? This dress is also very similar to AG’s old skateboarding outfit.
We often purchase bitty’s outfits for our American Girls. Pants become capris but everything else we’ve tried has fit well.
As our collection grows they will definitely be sharing!
I have a bitty baby and when I don’t have a perfect outfit for Rebecca, I use my baby outfits. Lol!!!! :p
I really wanted the pretty purple out fit for 18″ dolls but it was sold out when my mom went to buy it so she bought the bitty baby outfit besides being a little to big around the chest area(major problem) it looked cut so we folded over one of the Velcro sides and stitched and it fits perfect know! I love bitty out fits(on many doll dresses you will not have this problem)
Love this this puts all my worries to rest, usually I found that bitty baby/ twins outfits are on sale the most and can get as low as $20 or less!

What about with the opposite – if you have 18 inch doll clothes for AG and want to use them on bitty babies? My mom makes clothes and we wanted to gift someone who owns a bitty baby and wondered if the clothes would fit or be too big?
I want to purchase a WellieWisher for my daughter but I see that there aren’t many options for clothing, if I bought 18″ doll clothes would they be extremely to big for the 15″ doll?
The WellieWishers doll has different measurements than 18″ dolls. I don’t think they can typically share clothing. Look for clothing or patterns for 14-14.5″ dolls. I hear they also share clothing with a few other dolls such as the Heart to Hearts Girls or 15″ Disney Dolls. I hope that helps!
