As the year is coming to an end I wanted to share the top ten posts of 2014. There are posts from previous years that continue to be popular but I wanted to just highlight the popular posts from this year! Shout out if you have a favorite that wasn’t mentioned!
#10 Doll Skirt from a Baby Skirt
This is a quick sew to alter a baby skirt to fit your doll. I can’t resist an easy sew!
#9 Wearing Matching Clothes with Your Doll. How Do You Weigh In?
There are more and more options for dressing like your doll these days. Has it caught on with you? I also share links to companies that sell matching girl/doll clothes.
#8 Make a Doll Purse Out of a Coin Pouch
I found this little pouch on the dollar rack at Target. After I transformed it into a doll purse I wish I had bought a few more! There are many little bags that are so perfect for doll size bags. Keep an eye out and use this idea to finish one off for a doll size purse or bag!
#7 Bitty Baby Clothes on American Girl Dolls?
Do you have a Bitty Baby? They are 15″ baby dolls sold by American Girl Dolls. It’s amazing how well these two dolls share clothes!
#6 A Doll Size Bulletin Board
I started a doll size sewing area inspired by the Girl of the Year 2014 Isabelle (from American Girl). The scene included a working bulletin board to pin up fashion inspiration and ideas. There are lots of ideas here. Maybe you came for the printable bulletin board pattern or maybe you enjoyed a close up look at the sewing room details!
#5 Doll Size Fingerless Gloves
This is a super easy no-sew project for your dolls! It is another project inspired by the GOTY 2014 Isabelle.
#4 Sew a Fur Vest For Dolls
This short vest has a fun shape and is a lovely accent to a dress. I actually sewed it from a lace up vest pattern that I made in the fall to go with a witch costume. Turns out it also makes a great fur vest! The pattern is included.
#3 A Drawstring Backpack for Dolls
I have been on a drawstring backpack kick this year and this is the pattern that started it all. It is a quick sew, easily under 30 min. Sew up a few for your friends that love dolls or use it as a “first project” on the sewing machine to teach someone who loves dolls how to sew!
#2 Baby Clothes for the Bitty Twin Dolls
I couldn’t believe how well Premie separates fit Bitty Baby dolls. I scooped up a few more sets this year for my daughter’s Bitty Baby.
#1 9 Doll Outfits made from Girl’s Skirts
This is hands down the top post of 2014! I have been sewing girl’s skirts into doll clothes from the beginning. Here I’ve gathered up all those tutorials into one place. There are 9 different variations and a brief description of each to get you to the project you are looking for!
It’s great to pause and look back on the year! I have to say that I’m even more excited looking forward to the coming year and all of the creating, learning and play to come! Thank you to the many fabulous readers for your feedback and support!

These definitely were some of my favorite posts! I would have to say that my favorite post of 2014 for me was those blurbs of facts that you included in http://www.doll-it-up.com/5-fun-stops-a-victorian-stroll/! I love incorporating learning into doll play because it can improve learning in school for girls. Thanks for making this a wonderful year and I can’t wait to see you blogging in 2015! Happy early New Year!
