Your doll has a babysitting job all lined out with these adorable babies!
With an 11 turning 12 year old we are entering the babysitting age at our house. My daughter had her first “real”(outside the family) babysitting job about a month ago. She turned down a late-over with friends, which ranks at the very top of the list of fun things to do, to take the job. When she came home that night she shared some of the challenges of the evening. As a mom, you just love these talks because you’ve been there. You smile inside to see your little girl growing up so much and taking responsibility.
(Allison really has her arms full today!)
And here are some highlights of our conversation.
Daughter: Everything was going pretty smoothly and they were all tucked into bed when one said she was hungry and then the other chimed right in. Uh-oh, I forgot the bed time snack!
(I Found these My First Disney, Little Princess Twinsies at Walmart!)
Daughter: They were out of bed and back in again with full tummies. Oh wait, what is that pitter-patter of feet?
(Pause) How do you keep a three year old in bed?
Mom: Hmmm, that’s a tricky one.
(They each have their own swaddling blanket that stays closed with velcro!)
Daughter: So they would stay in bed, I sat on their bedroom floor until they fell asleep. It took forever!
(This little one fits snug in Allison’s arms)
Daughter: Phew, finally they fell asleep but now what? The dark unfamiliar house creeped me out. How do you even find the light switches in somebody else’s house?
(See what helps her hold on to that little baby so well! If you want some more tips check it out here.)
Mom: So, how soon do you want to do that again?
(This little one already has a good grasp on that bottle she came with!)
Daughter: Right away!
Mom: Really?
(It turns out she has the same “trick hold” as her sitter!)
Daughter: Now I’m just getting the hang of it. If I get more experience I will get better and better at it. I already have some ideas of how I would do things differently.
(These babies are a great size for lots of babysitting fun for your doll!)
Daughter: For one I wouldn’t forget their bedtime snack before their bedtime routine! For another, next time I’m going to ask for a tour of the house so I’m not creeped out when it gets late. Then I can also help out more. I wanted to pick up the kitchen, but I had no idea where things went. Ya, I think that tour will really help.
Mom: -Smiles-(She’s right! I think she is ready and is going to be the best kind of babysitter there is!)
Play with your kids today, they grow up WAY too fast! 🙂

Anna says
Meggie, You will have fun with them!
Meggie says
Thank you! I know I’ll have fun with them too!
Meggie says
I wanted to know something, where did you get the wagon?
Anna says
It was a thrift store find! Recently I came across a mini radio flyer wagon. I little more pricey but cute and well made! Here is one on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Radio-Flyer-Little-Red-Wagon/dp/B0006NDB6Q
Maybe there is a better deal somewhere else?
Meggie says
Thanks Anna! I’m going to try and find one at my local thrift store. I also got a suggestion. Maybe you can find a stroller for the babies. I found mine today at Target. It came with an 8″ baby doll. And I got it, along with some cute outfits.
Anna says
Wow, a stroller! How fun! I would love to see pics!
Meggie says
I’ll try to send my photos to you. I was looking for the set you got at Target but I ended up finding the stroller set. Very cute and well made.
