A New Doll in the Dollhouse.

Saige joined our dollhouse this week.  She hails from the AG store in St. Louis, Missouri.  Emma, my daughter, traveled to the Midwest last week with her grandparents.  The trip had been in the works since the beginning of the year and so we started a piggy bank to pick out a new doll.  I pitched in half of her cost and Emma saved up her babysitting money for the other half.  We are enjoying our new doll!  I just wanted to share a few pics!

She has a lovely hair color and bright blue eyes.

We are excited about these soft curls!  We have mainly straight haired dolls so this is new and different for us!

  1. I have Saige! She is truly gorgeus. I love her so! She fits in perfectly with my other dolls.

  2. Oh my goodness
How did you Saige get such amazing curls??
When I first opened my Saige in July, I took out her rope braid, and her hair was way, with a bit of curl
    Your dolls hair is AMAZING
I’ve been thinking about sending her to the hospital in a year or so, and I would like to ask if you think it’s worth it, so I could end up with curls like yours.

    1. Natalia, To show-off the curls we brush each curl individually. We don’t brush the curl strand straight. We brush with the direction of the curl. It looks a little like we are twisting the brush as it follows the curl down the strand of hair. I hope that makes sense! I’m not sure if Saige’s curls are going to relax over time? We’ll see! Good luck!

  3. She is so pretty…I can’t wait to get her! My mom just said today that I can have one more doll. This made me very sad, as I wanted Saige and the MAG with red hair and brown eyes, but I finally decided to just stick with Saige since I have her room ready for her and everything. By the way, the page on how to make a paper mache hot air balloon is not working. I’m not sure if it is just my laptop, or if something is the matter with the web…

    1. I hope you enjoy your new doll, whichever you choose! Thanks for the heads up about the link…I’ll have to look into that!

  4. I have saige, I LOVED the rope braid. So I did it on saige and it looks AMAZING!!!

P.S. is there more saig hair stiles besides curles?

    Sincerely,
Ella Andrews… This is my first message

  5. Saige is my very first genuine AG doll (I’ve had others in the last few years) and I have to admit I think my mom loves her more than me sometimes!! I say this in perfect seriousness as an adult who purchases dolls for display rather than play, but her hair was definitely her selling point. It is beauitful, and really is easy to style.

Recommendation – anyone who wants fun ideas for styling hair on their own should check out the youtube channel: Cute Girls Hairstyles. Yes, they are directed to people hair and not dolls, but Mindy does an awesome job of explaining HOW to do the style! I’ve recreated a couple on Saige and love the results! Right now she’s wearing the fish-tail bun with small rope braids. Also, check out your local grocery store – found TEENY bobby pins that are the genuine article and perfect size for doll styles!
