I hesitated to share our opening photos of Grace because there’s already a lot out there from various bloggers. After taking a look at my photos I decided to share them because I know that I am really hands on about everything. I had a hard time picking out my first American Girl Doll because it was hard to to not see the doll in person first. That being said this isn’t a sales pitch for Grace but a chance to share her with you.
There may be a variety of reasons these photos may interest you. Maybe you don’t have a chance to see her for yourself in one of the American Girl Stores, I know I live too far away to visit. Maybe you want to see another perspective of her.
If you are thinking of buying her you may want to see details about how she arrives.
The next best thing to hands-on is seeing something through the eyes of someone else with photos. This is a close up view of Grace. Come and experience Grace with me today!
First look! She arrives attached to the box and wears a hairnet to keep her hair nice through her travels through the mail.
A sprinkling of freckles!
Grace has nice coloring. Her lips and cheeks stand out more than other American Girl Dolls I have but in person it is not harsh or unnatural. Her lips especially remind me of girls that naturally have more color in their lips. Those lucky girls! 🙂
Grace has bright blue eyes and comes wearing a Paris t-shirt, a pink skirt, and grey ankle boots.
In her box she arrives with a charm bracelet…
and her first book of three. The other books are sold separately.
She is attached to the box from her neck…
to her ankles!
The foam wrap keeps the vinyl and clothing from being rubbed while she travels through the mail.
I’m totally checking out that side sweep bang and wondering what it’s all about!
The hair net is soft and super stretchy. It keeps every hair in place and tidy.
Catching a peek of her highlights!
I pulled the hairnet off from her forehead toward her back.
Her hair looks great right out of the hairnet, smooth and lovely.
I opted to have her ears pierced and she arrives wearing these red hearts.
With the ear piercing she also comes with this set of earrings tucked next to her legs in the box.
We are excited to have Grace but even more excited to read her stories and dream up play, crafts, sewing projects, delicious fun in the kitchen and activities around her stories!
I hope you enjoyed this close up look of Grace and how she arrives!

Thanks for the great pix — really helps me as I consider whether to add her to our “family” or not. But what is really up with those side swept bangs? Can they be brought down straighter, or is it doomed to always be a sidesweep? Please let us know if they can do anything besides go off to the side. Thanks! ( I’d love to see pix of her bangs trying to do a not side-sweep too.)

Thanks Karen! As far as her hair goes, she can really only have side swept bangs because of the way they are cut. I got some great shots of her bangs and they are pretty funny looking down. You do have a choice how much the bang is pushed to the side though. I plan on showing more detailed pics soon. I do think the bangs are done well, even if they can only be styled one way. They are a unique design and I love that they are thin and stay in place. Hope that helps!
