The Rosina Top is a sweet summer design filled with gathered texture, pretty details, and mix-and-match possibilities. Inspired by the shirred and ruched details showing up in fashion right now, this pattern creates a similar look using rows of gathering across the bodice.
The curved neckline can be finished with a mini gathered ruffle or decorative trim, giving you two beautiful ways to frame the top. At the waistline, choose a tiny ruffle for a simple finish or a longer peplum ruffle for a fuller, more playful look.
The fully lined bodice gives the inside a clean finish, while shoulder straps, a low back, and a Velcro closure complete the design. Made for lightweight woven fabrics, Rosina is lovely in cotton prints, florals, gingham, eyelet, lawn, and repurposed clothing.
One of the most exciting things about the Rosina Top is how easily it works with other Doll It Up patterns. Sew it as a summer top with shorts or a skirt, or use the Rosina bodice with skirt pieces from the Lily Party Dress, Kate Dress, or Violet Dress patterns for even more creative possibilities.
Whether you’re sewing a sweet stand-alone top or building a mix-and-match wardrobe, the Rosina Top is full of little details you’ll love to make your own.
Note: The dress version pictured uses the Rosina Top bodice with the Kate Dress skirt piece. The Rosina Top was designed with interchangeable pattern pieces, allowing you to mix and match with select Doll It Up dress patterns. The Kate Dress skirt piece is not included in the Rosina Top pattern. You will need the Kate Dress pattern to sew this variation.
