Thanksgiving Table and DIY Leaf Placemats

Here is our doll size Thanksgiving table decorations this year.

Let’s go through them.

This time around a lot of the decorations are thrift store finds upcycled for our Thanksgiving decor.  Like Mr. Turkey here, who is spritely sitting atop a real mini pumpkin.

This is one of a few platter/tray/cake stands we have.  It is an upcycled item that I’m not sure what its purpose was before.  I added the large canning lid to make it work as a tray. I love the wrought iron detail!

The cornucopia would be fun to fill with bounty, but this year it stands empty, nevertheless still a reminder of the harvest.

My most recent find, this metal pitcher seemed to fit the look.

Now that I had my fun playing decorator with the table center piece, I want to show you how to make your very own leaf placemat.

I bought these 2 bunches of leaves at the dollar store.  I liked the different leaf shapes and colors.

Three leaves per placemat were the perfect size.  Use as many as you need to build up a nice placemat size.

The plastic “veins” on the back added too much bulk.

They easily peeled off.

After deciding placement, tack it together with a little hot glue.  Then come back and glue the rest of the overlapping pieces together.

Ta-da!

Here is the rest of the table setting.  A large canning lid stands in as a charger.  I didn’t bother to cover up the words because I wanted a silver charger and the plate covers it up just fine.  I saw Jen over at AGDollCrafts made canning lids into doll size plates with a little spray paint.  Check it out here.  I know I want to try it out sometime!

I love the colors of the square plates.  Surprisingly they are a yard sale find.

A mini leaf carries the theme.

Black napkins in a leaf and wire holder finishes it off.

These leaf placemats can add fall fun to any dolls table!

Make mini placemats with your kids to set their doll table for Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
